Designed for Lauren, her beautiful dress is a striking statement and yet soft and elegant.

A playful nod to the 1920's with a dropped waistline and Art Deco inspired lace dress over a clean satin dress - that would stand alone in its own right. These two stunning dresses wrapped in a tulle veil take Lauren though the day and dancing into the night.

You wanna kiss girl'

Lauren's delicate fine lace couture gown contrasts magnificently against the bold impressions of street art set upon the walls in the historic buildings district of Dunedin City.

A soft structured bodice holds form under layers of ivory satin and scalloped edged lace. The detail in the neckline and fine straps are handcrafted with appliqué cut lace. Each floral positioned, placed and hand stitched.  Where the centre back joins together, hand covered lace buttons and satin loops were crafted over an invisible zip to beautifully detail and fasten her gown.

A Gem amongst the Flowers: Kitty & Ben's February Wedding. February 28 2017

A stunning wedding captured by Sinead Jenkins Photography.

Kitty and Ben's February Wedding set in the magical landscape of Orokonui Ecosanctuary, Otago.

Couture Wedding Gown by Beau.
Flowers by Estelle Flowers.

Our journey together to create this couture wedding dress began with a colour pallet captured by the green of New Zealand's native bush and the textures and shapes found hidden amongst the landscape. Kitty's dress is constructed from layers of silk crepe de chine. The fabric shimmers like dappled light though the canopy of tree leaves. Geometric lace bound with a silk edge creates the contrast of texture and beauty found in natures wonders.

Old, New, Borrowed and Blue: Terri & Ben's February Wedding February 25 2017

A beautiful wedding captured by Georgie Daniell Photography.

Terri and Ben's October Wedding set in the whimsical bushland of Dunedin, Otago.

"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,
and a silver sixpence in her shoe". A traditional rhyme for what a bride should wear.

I have always loved this rhyme and Terri's wedding touched on many elements of this sentimental tail.
Our design journey began with Terri's family heirloom heritage lace coat. With a vision to preserve and work with the delicate antique lace the seams were carefully unpicked. With Terri's measurements a new pattern was drafted and a lace overcoat was handcrafted featuring little capped sleeves and a sculpted appliqué lace collar stand. Borrowing excess lace from the original lace coat, lace panels were cut and crafted into a entirely new garment to be worn underneath the lace coat. This couture gown was cut on the bias, a cutting technique working with the drape and fall of a woven fabric.

Chasing Dandelion Dreams: Morgan & Chase December Wedding December 31 2016

A dreamy wedding captured by Georgie Daniell Photography.
Couture Wedding Gown by Beau.

Morgan and Chase's December Wedding set in the beautiful landscape of Grandview Gardens, Outram, Otago.

Morgan's couture gown is crafted from layers of flowing chiffon. She loved the vintage character of the lace selected for the bodice, inspiring our designer to detail the garment with a delicate edge trimming. In our studio the trimming was further vintaged with a hand-dying process.  The soft lines and dreamy silhouette enhance the endless flowing feel of this romantic and bespoke gown.

Danielle's December Wedding set in the magical landscape of Larnach Castle, Dunedin.
Dancing in the moonlight, Danielle's fairy tail wedding captured the heart of her family and friends.

Her chiffon dress appeared endless and the soft colour palette of summer yellows echoed the castle gardens blossoming wisteria.

Little lace embellishments were pieced together by hand to create the cap sleeves and neckline for Danielle's couture wedding gown.  Inspired by abstract flower centres, her dress was delicately detailed with small ivory pearls hand sewn onto the lace.

Fitting Sarah into her dress on the morning of her wedding was the icing on the cake. The moment was magical and there were tears of joy from the bride to be and her beautiful bridesmaids.

Our journey together to create this perfect dress let us explore the boundaries of textiles and share stories of vintage gowns kept and treasured over the years within the family. Sarah's dress is constructed from layers of chiffon and lace finished delicately with a raw edge and a single stitch. The soft lines and dreamy silhouette are enhanced by the endless feel to the garment fabric and hint of blush on the under layer of her gown. Her shoes sparkled from beneath the layers and inspired the tiny hand-made buttons painted with gold dust.
